“THE BIBLE IS SPECIAL”

        Psalms 119:161  Princes persecute me without cause, But my heart stands in awe of Your words.

        Isaiah 66:2-5  (2) "For My hand made all these things, Thus all these things came into being," declares the LORD. "But to this one I will look, To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word.  …..  (5)  Hear the word of the LORD, you who tremble at His word: "Your brothers who hate you, who exclude you for My name's sake, Have said, 'Let the LORD be glorified, that we may see your joy.' But they will be put to shame.

        Jeremiah 23:28  "The prophet who has a dream may relate his dream, but let him who has My word speak My word in truth. (Speak it faithfully) What does straw have in common with grain?" declares the LORD.

        Acts 17:11  Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining (searching- KJV) the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.

        Acts 4:29-31  (29)  "And now, Lord, take note of their threats, and grant that Your bond-servants may speak Your word with all confidence, ….. (31)  And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness.

        Acts 8:25  So, when they had solemnly testified and spoken the word of the Lord, they started back to Jerusalem, and were preaching the gospel to many villages of the Samaritans.

        Acts 11:1  Now the apostles and the brethren who were throughout Judea heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God.

        Acts 13:48  When the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord; and as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed.

        Acts 18:11  And he settled there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.

        1 Peter 1:22  Since you have in obedience to the truth purified your souls for a sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from the heart,

        2 Timothy 2:15  Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.

        James 1:22-23  But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves.  (23)  For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror;

        Revelation 1:9  I, John, your brother and fellow partaker in the tribulation and kingdom and perseverance which are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.

        1 Corinthians 2:4, 13  (4) and my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, …… (13)  which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words.

        2 Corinthians 4:2  but we have renounced the things hidden because of shame, not walking in craftiness or adulterating the word of God, but by the manifestation of truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

        Rev. 22:18-19  I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book;  (19)  and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book.

HUMAN TRADITIONS ARE CONDEMNED IN THE SCRIPTURES

Matthew 15:1-9  Then some Pharisees and scribes *came to Jesus from Jerusalem and said,  (2)  "Why do Your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread."        (3)  And He answered and said to them, "Why do you yourselves transgress the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition?  (4)  "For God said, 'HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER,' and, 'HE WHO SPEAKS EVIL OF FATHER OR MOTHER IS TO BE PUT TO DEATH.'  (5)  "But you say, 'Whoever says to his father or mother, "Whatever I have that would help you has been given to God,"  (6)  he is not to honor his father or his mother.' And by this you invalidated the word of God for the sake of your tradition.  (7)  "You hypocrites, rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you:  (8)  'THIS PEOPLE HONORS ME WITH THEIR LIPS, BUT THEIR HEART IS FAR AWAY FROM ME.   (9)  'BUT IN VAIN DO THEY WORSHIP ME, TEACHING AS DOCTRINES THE PRECEPTS OF MEN.'"
