Genesis "Truths"

The first 10 words in Genesis begins greatest story ever told. 'In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.'

What a wonder! So simple and sublime. Certain truths are self evident

1. God IS is a fact that we are obliged to believe;

2. The creation of the stars is covered in five words. "He made the starts also."

3. "After its kind" and "It was so" are repeated over 10 times.

4. Furthermore, God made man "Human kind" in "His image after our likeness" -

5. How could mere man give us so much insight into the human race, His Will,

and the revelation of Himself? We should stand in awe, magnify and glorify

our Creator, and reverently study His Word.

Some Facts In Genesis:

I Am Accountable To God For My Sins.

God asked Adam (and every accountable person) "Where art thou?" (Gen. 3:9)

Sin separates, brings shame and remorse, and we stand naked before God.

God demands death - (Life for life) to bring us back.

I Am Accountable To God To Love My Fellow Man.

"Am I my brother's keeper?" (Gen. 4:9-10)

Sin separates! No longer could Cain be recognized

as a son of Adam and Eve. He was driven far from his family.

We are created in God's image, and should be like Him:

Caring, loving, nurturing, providing, not quarreling, angry, or even worse, murder!

I Am Accountable To Worship God In The Right Way.

"If you do what is right will you not be accepted? But if you do what is not right, sin is crouching at your door." (Gen. 4:6-7)

Abel's offering was by faith. (Heb. 11:4)

Is Anything Too Hard For The Lord? (Gen. 18:4)

a. He Created and Sustains the universe. (Gen. 1)

b. He is the Great Provider. (Gen. 2, 3, 18-22 etc.)

c. He is the Great and only Savior. (Gen. 3, 6, etc.)

d. He is the Greatest Lover. (Jn. 3:16)

"Will God Destroy The Righteous With The Wicked? Will Not The Judge Of

All The Earth Do Right?"

Asked by Abraham. (Gen. 18:23)

We are assured God will save every righteous soul, even as Lot and his two daughters were saved from the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah and Noah and his family from the flood.

Other Examples In Genesis:

a. (Gen. 5:27) Enoch - Walked with God for 300 years.

b. (Gen. 6:9) Noah - Walked with God, a righteous and blameless man.

c. (Gen. 17:1) Abraham - Told to walk before God and be blameless.

Just one more question: "Am I In The Place Of God?"

Joseph's brothers feared that at last Joseph would retaliate because of their unjust behavior to him.

Joseph realized that they needed God's forgiveness (he had already forgiven them) and that vengeance belongs only to God.

And he said, "Fear not, I will nourish you and your little ones. And he comforted them and spoke kindly to them."

(Gen. 50:21) Truly a brother! Truly a godly man!
