Is Thy Heart Right With God?

Not if it is UNFORGIVING

(Luke 17:3) "Be on your guard! If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.

(2 Cor 2:7) so that on the contrary you should rather forgive and comfort him, lest somehow such a one be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow.

(Mark 11:26) "But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your transgressions."

(Mat 18:35) "So shall My heavenly Father also do to you, if each of you does not forgive hisbrother from your heart."

Not if it is WORLDLY

(Mat 16:26) "For what will a man be profited, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?"

(1 John 2:15) "Do not love the world, nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him."

(Mat 6:19-21) "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. "But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."

(James 4:4) "You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. "

Not if it is IMPENITENT

(Luke 5:32) "I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance."

(Acts 3:19) "Repent therefore and return, that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord; "

(2 Pet 3:9) "The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance."

(Luke 13:3) "I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish."

Not if it is BITTER

(Jer 4:18) "Your ways and your deeds Have brought these things to you. This is your evil. How bitter! How it has touched your heart!"

(Acts 8:23) "For I see that you are in the gall of bitterness and in the bondage of iniquity."

(James 3:14) "But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth."

(Eph 4:31) "Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. "

Not if it is HARD

(Prov 28:14) "How blessed is the man who fears always, But he who hardens his heart will fall into calamity."

(Prov 29:1) "A man who hardens his neck after much reproof Will suddenly be broken beyond remedy."

(Mark 16:14) "And afterward He appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at the table; and He reproached them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who had seen Him after He had risen."

(Heb 3:13) "But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called "Today," lest any one of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. "

Not if it is LUSTFUL

(Rom 1:24) "Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, that their bodies might be dishonored among them. "

(1 John 2:16) "For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. "

(James 1:15-16) "Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death. Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. "

(1 Pet 2:11) "Beloved, I urge you as aliens and strangers to abstain from fleshly lusts, which wage war against the soul. "

THE DANGER:

IMMEDIATE - (Acts 8:23) "For I see that you are in the gall of bitterness and in the bondage of iniquity."

FUTURE - (Acts 8:20) "But Peter said to him, "May your silver perish with you, becauseyou thought you could obtain the gift of God with money!"

THE CURE:

REPENT - (Acts 8:22) "Therefore repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray the Lord that if possible, the intention of your heart may be forgiven you."

ENTHRONE CHRIST- (1 Pet 3:15) "but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence;"
