The Last 7 Things

I Cor. 15:23-24

INTRODUCTION:

A. We are only interested in the truth Jn. 8:33

B. The Bible indicates 7 things that will happen at the end of the World.

C. There has been more speculation on this subject than any other in the Bible.

D. The Armstrong movement spends a lot of there time on this.

E. They have a lot of speculation about them.

F. The things we will talk about are in the Word of God.

I. JESUS SHALL RETURN 1 COR. 15:23-24

A. Most people have concept Jesus will return back to earth no passage that states that. 1 Thes. 4:17

B. Jehovah's witnesses idea earth will change 144,000 to heaven the rest on earth.

1. If Christ was returning to earth what would he do? He said "It is finished" Jn. 9:4

C. Heb. 9:28 - He shall appear at the end of time. When? Don't know

D. Man wrote a book "88 reasons why rapture will be in 88" Hasn't happened Mark 13:32

II. DEAD WILL BE RAISED

A. Every time go to the silent city of the Dead Jn. 5:28,29; 11:24 assures us they will rise again.

B. World says 2 resurrections Bible says a Resurrection. Acts 24:15

C. Some say 1 Thes. 4:16 teaches 2 resurrections. But look at 1 Thes. 4 talking of Resserrection of Righteous.

D. If say going to town must first shave. Does that mean someone else will shave second?

III. LIVING WILL BE CHANGED

A. What's all that about?

1. 1 Cor. 15:50 - Can't go to heaven bodily v. 51 will take place quickly.

2. One man said don't worry about being saved now. Wait until end of time be saved in moment twinkling of an eye - not talking about that.

IV. THIS PRESENT EARTH WILL COME TO A CLOSE

A. Nothing opened. Place you work, house.

B. We get so attached to the present world and think will last forever 2 Pet. 3:10

C. Bible speaks of 3 heavens

1. God in 3rd Heaven

2. Stars and moon 2nd Heaven

3. Atmosphere - 1st Heaven not abode of God.

D. Bible doesn't say when but at the end of time.

V. A JUDGMENT OF ALL MEN

A. Heb. 9:27; Ecc. 12:13,14; 2 Cor. 5:10; Rom. 14:11,12; Jn. 5:22; 12:48; Rom. 2:16; Rev. 20:12-15

B. Sheep and Goats will be separated

VI. REIGN OF CHRIST WILL BE GIVEN UP

A. Rev. 17:14; Matt. 16:18-19; 1 Tim. 2:5

B. Some say can't believe Christ's reign is temporary. 1 Cor. 15:25,26-28

1. Passage says Lord will reign as long as any one dead but point 2 says Dead will raise.

C. When he comes his reign will end.

VII. TAKE THE KINGDOM CHURCH OF OUR LORD AND DELIVER IT TO GOD.

A. 1 Cor. 15:24; Matt. 16:18-19; Col. 1:13; Rev. 1:9,10

B. Kingdom the Church has been existence for 2,000 years.

C. How will we be delivered to God. Jn. 3:5

D. Should that end come now how will you stand 1. Thes. 4:17,18
